I’ve loved Brendon Moeller’s productions as Echologist and Beat Pharmacy and was excited to come across this four hour DJ set he posted to Soundcloud. The mix crosses all boundaries and styles – this guy is a music fanatic! Psychadelic and spacey with bits of groove and breaks make for a really interesting mix.
From his soundcloud page:
Over 4 and a half hours of my set. unfortunately batteries died on my portable recorder so I couldn’t get it all, but this will give you a fair idea of why deep space is easily one of my favorite parties to play :)
Trax from vladislav delay, dorian concept, lone, king tubby, calibre, stereolab, harmonic 313, gang star, lou rawls, the orb, tribe called quest, einsturzende neubaten, suicide, lee perry, ian dury, deep chord, the specials, jimi hendrix, the commodores, inxs,,modeselektor, steely dan and more :)

We’re loving our friends over at Wave Music who recently gave us a dope EP from Area (aka M50) who dropped a mix for us last month. This month they sent this nice mix by Wave artist Tony Lionni who has been tearing up decks across the globe with deep detroit sounds back by modern kickdrums and warehouse vibes. Loving up this mix.. hope you will too. Awaiting tracklist, will post when I get it.
From the Wave website: Tony Lionni is one of the most exciting newcomers, fusing the subtlety of Detroit techno with an overwhelming euphoria. As a recording artist he is a newcomer, but as a DJ he has been well-respected in Manchester’s underground club scene for quite some time. He grew up in Liverpool, listening to his father’s soul, disco and funk records. Being down with a crew from Manchester’s neighborhood Old Trafford called The Rebels In Effect, hip hop shaped his future musical direction.
He has deejayed at almost all relevant clubs around the world including Club Yellow Tokyo, Berghain Berlin and The End London. Lionni’s profound knowledge of the history of black music makes his techno tracks so striking and soulful. Tony has releases on LOTD records Toronto, Wave Music, Mulemusiq, Freerange Records, and has a track on the Berghain comp n°3 with an exclusive vinyl release shared with Radio Slave. Tony also has released a Resident Advisor podcast in 2009.

Thanks to the TNL list and Kendra for this link.. dope new mix from Derek Plaslaiko (Bunker, Spectral) Grab it HERE
Spectral Sound & The Bunker’s Derek Plaslaiko has been a staple of the NYC Techno scene since he relocated here from Detroit in 2004. He’s performed at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival multiple times, even being asked by Carl Craig to perform at the inaugural edition, had residencies at the best underground techno events in NYC and toured the globe, consistently bringing his slice of the Motor City wherever he goes. Some of the love he’s been getting from the press includes being voted DJ of the year by The Village Voice and landing in the Next 100 URB listing…
Let me be honest here – this mix is fire. It starts off with one of the funkiest wooden steppin’ beats we’ve heard in recent memory and doesn’t let up. Plaslaiko’s selection here doesn’t give you much time to rest. African loops, hand drums, searing bass lines and thick, pitched vocals guide you through Plaslaiko’s dark, funky tech. I may be biased, but this is one of the best, most emotive mixes I’ve ever heard fromDerek – you’re gonna be sweating and flailing on that dance floor for sure, but you might even shed a tear or two. Aside from Spinoza’s impeccable booking and DJing, there’s a reason why The Bunker is NY’s top techno party – and that reason is Derek Plaslaiko.
You can catch Derek performing at multiple events at this year’sUnsound Festival NYC, the first being The Bunker Edition 1 at Public Assembly, February 5th. Don’t sleep – Krakow to NYC.
